What moves the number

Questions we're asked
How long does a khul‘ divorce take?
Typically 6–12 months from filing, after the mandatory settlement attempt. It is the shortest route to a divorce that does not depend on proving fault, but it requires giving up financial rights, and you should understand exactly which ones before you file.
Can I travel abroad with my children?
Not without the father’s consent or a court order permitting it. If consent is refused, the court can permit travel for a defined purpose and period. Apply before you book anything.
He stopped paying maintenance. What can I do?
A maintenance judgment is enforceable through the Nasser Social Bank and through attachment of salary or assets. Bring the judgment and any proof of the last payment, and we start enforcement — it is a separate case from the one that awarded the maintenance.
Do I have to attend court myself?
Not for most sessions. Some steps require you personally, and we will tell you which and when, well in advance.
Everything I read online contradicts itself. Is that normal?
Yes, and it is the main reason people come to us frightened. Personal status law differs by religion and by the specific facts, and most online summaries omit both. One meeting usually resolves it.
Is what I tell you confidential?
Absolutely, and that obligation does not depend on whether you go on to instruct us.
